DOCUMENTATION UNIT |
| In
order to achieve ESRF objectives the documentation unit aims at building a comprehensive
collection in social science areas particularly economic and social welfare.

CURRENT SITUATION |
| The current collection comprises about 4000
volumes, 50 periodical tiles 19 newspapers and 1 CD-ROM subscription title (Econlit).
|
| SERVICES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE DOCUMENTATION UNIT |
| The
documentation unit provide up to date information and documentation services to
researchers using modern technology these includes the use of Online Public Access
Catalogue (OPAC), CD_ROM, On-line databases document delivery services and Internet
resources.
The unit offers Current Awareness Services (CAS),
Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI), enquiry services, online document delivery
services, documents binding, e mail and internet services

AUTOMATION |
| The library has been automated using Bookworm Library Management System. The software can do the following: acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, and Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). It can also automatically generate Bar codes and Accession number. |
STAFF |
| At present there is one qualified Librarian,
holding a BA (Hons) in Librarianship and Information studies and Msc in Information
science.
